In this willowry world of music, it seems as though R&B has lost its luckslaster appeal it once use to have. R&B was the staple of many of our homes, especially on Saturday mornings. I don't know about you guys, but my mom has Jodeci, R.Kelly, Faith Evens POPPIN' for Saturday morning cleaning.
Nonetheless, it seems as though the R&B footprint is missing. However there are some shining souls that are shining brightly through and here's a special gem that is the top tier.
Saint Lee is a singer/songwriter from Miami and a recent graduate from Florida A&M University. She earned her degree in Journalism and Public Relations. She has been tearing up the microphone since she was 5 years old. She definitely has been around music for a long time. "Music plays a big role in my family and it's always been around, my relatives would always sing with me. Singing was not my first choice at all, to be honest.", stated Saint. Saint's versatility and expertise within her music shows the influence and background that she has experienced. "My grandparents influenced a lot of music and instrumentals so I owe it all to family".
Some of that old R&B was also a big influence in some of her music. Her song Energy definitely whispers some Aaliyah and Faith tracks. "I was a big fan of Aaliyah, Ashanti, and Amerie growing up. Right now I'm a big fan of Tinashe and SZA. I vibe out to their music daily.", she said.
So what's next for the beautiful Saint Lee? She recently or other a music video for her song Energy in which she described that as one of her biggest music accompliments. "More music is coming and more single will be put out. I'm also hosting various events, for example an art exhibit in Atlanta.", she said. Saint Lee will be hosting "Trap Art" on July 7th (see the website for more info on that event).
She is out, and she is here to stay. For more info on Saint Lee, please follow her on Twitter: @1SaintLee for new releases and new singles.
