There are different and new lanes being created within music everyday. It's up to the artist to determine how the lane is conquered. This is where the real artistry shines through. In music lately, we are experiencing the Rap, R&B combos now by favorites like Drake, Bryson Tiller, Tory Lanez, Lucci, among others. Everyday newcomers are making a name for themselves in the music world.

Meet Josh Sheeran. Josh is a 21 year old upcoming Hip-Hop/R&B artist from FarmVille, NC. Josh began his love of music back when he was a young child and just trying to stay cool and popular. "Getting into music was just a way to keep up with friends at first. We recorded our song on a cassette tape in my backyard at 11 years old", he stated. That began the journey that made Sheehan into the artist he became to be.

Josh gets his inspiration from many different topics and people. "Social issues draw my inspiration, really. I try telling my story and others stories as well. I can say that all my music is nothing but truth." His inspiration also comes from a surpassingly different source as well. He states that he is influenced by the Toronto music scene, mainly the OVO music wave. "The artists and vibes the city pumps out is amazing. I like that slow, story-telling, music." Some of his favorite artists from that scene is Partynextdoor and Drake. "I also draw inspiration from Bryson Tiller. I feel like we've lived the same life on terms of dealing with certain issues", he said. Sheehan is an up comer himself so to find he draws his inspiration from other upcoming artists was a surprise in itself. "Artists like Smino and Monte Booker put together crazy, upbeat styles. I love that and hope to work with them one day", he stated.

So what's next for the man known as Josh Sheeran? He just released his first project, February Blue, which received a big response from listeners. "I had no idea that many was in tune with what I was doing", he gushed. The project itself has almost over 1,000 streams on Apple Music alone. February Blue is a message with stories of sin and truth.
